Chronic Biliary Pancreatitis: Problems And Their Solutions

The article presents the current view on the pathogenesis of chronic pancreatitis (CP), and its various forms. The main symptoms of CP, especially abdominal pain, and ways for their relief are discussed. It is emphasized that treatment of CP should be differentiated depending on the leading clinical syndrome and disease stage. Selective spasmolytic mebeverine is drug of choice for restoration of Oddi\'s sphincter patency, and normalization of outflow of pancreatic juice and bile.
