INFLUENCE OF ACTOVEGIN ON REPARATION OF CHRONIC WOUNDS OF VARIOUS ETIOLOGIES

The study was aimed to the evaluation of the effects of the drug Aktovegin in the comprehensive treatment of chronic wounds of various etiologies. The study included 118 patients who were admitted in the Unit of Vascular Surgery and Unit of Surgery of Suppurative Complications of Diabetes Mellitus. Patients were divided into 3 groups depending on etiological factors including pathological conditions that cause the formation of 90% of nonhealing wound defects. Each group was additionally divided into subgroups receiving only conventional therapy and conventional therapy plus Actovegin. The results showed: compared with patients treated with conventional therapy only, in patients treated with Actovegin, reduction of the size of chronic wounds and pain relief was observed 3-4 days and 2-3 days earlier, respectively. The above mentioned allows to recommend the use of Actovegin for the treatment of chronic wounds of various etiologies.
