Clinical observations of patients with osteoporosis and endocrine pathology
We consider two cases of osteoporosis (OP) in women with diabetes mellitus (DM). In one case the patient had type 1 DM, in the other - type 2 DM (type 2 diabetes). The first clinical case demonstrates the family aggregation of OP and DM, which extends through the female line. The peculiarity of another clinical case is unfavorable combination of risk factors potentiation (early menopause, type 2 diabetes, smoking, chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract), leading to a breach of mineral metabolism and the development of OP, complicated by multiple vertebrale and out-vertebrale fractures. For the treatment of OP both patients received Bivalos (strontium ranelat), which is the first drug with antiosteoporosis physiological effects on bone tissue. In postmenopausal women with mixed genesis of OP Bivalos can serve as a drug of choice due to high safety profile and a wide range of favorable clinical effects.
