Among the causes of pelvic floor dysfunction, there are lesions of m. levator ani (20%) and pelvic fascia (30%). Injuries of n. pudendus, defects in the process of remodeling the vaginal wall after birth, genetic, environmental and lifestyle factors are important in other cases. The findings indicate the need to select surgical treatment tactics in women with lesions of m. levator ani and pelvic fascia and the effectiveness of conservative treatment for other causes leading to dysfunction of pelvic floor muscles.
