First revealed gynecological cancer as the cause of death in multifield hospital
Currently there is a tendency to actively increase of the incidence of malignant tumors of the reproductive system in women in Russia. The results of causes of death evaluation in patients with diagnosed at autopsy cancer of female genital organs, nosological and syndromal comorbidity in this group of patients in a multidisciplinary hospital are presented. 125 case reports of women who died from genital cancer from 2003 to 2009 was analyzed. In 119 cases the diagnosis confirmed by the results of the autopsy. In 92.1% of cases the oncology process had stage IV, genital cancer was detected for the first time in 37.5% of women. In the analysis of comorbidity, hypertension, ischemic heart disease, diabetes, atherosclerosis and obesity were predominant on the frequency of detection. Thus, more than one-third of female genital cancer was diagnosed only after autopsy, due to the lack of follow-up care, screening and prevention of neoplasms of female genital organs.
