Peculiarities of the course and treatment of arterial hypertension in patients with acromegaly
The clinical study involving 261 patients with acromegaly assessed prevalence, severity and characteristics of arterial hypertension in these patients. The data for the frequency of cardiovascular risk factors, target lesions and associated diseases in patients with acromegaly are presented. The necessity of 24-hour blood pressure monitoring in a case of hypertension which developed in acromegaly is proved. We discussed the effect of remission of acromegaly under pressure of therapy by somatostatin analogues on the course of hypertension and cardiovascular risk.
