Capecitabine in the treatment of patients with gastric cancer
We consider the possibility of capecitabine use in the treatment of metastatic and locally advanced stomach cancer. Based on the results of clinical studies, we concluded that capecitabine is an optimal alternative to long-term infusion of fluorouracil, it has a favorable safety profile and proven efficacy. This makes capecitabine a standard component of therapy of metastatic and resectable stomach cancer. We submitted clinical case of capecitabine administration in patient with metastatic stomach cancer, which has been achieved partial tumor regression with time to progression of 11 months.
