42 children in age of 6 to 15 years, 15 of which were suffering from bronchial asthma and 27 from chronic pneumonia, were examined. All children were subjected to clinical inspection; research ERF and pharmacological assay with ipratropium bromide were carried out too. At 14 children with bronchial asthma and 25 children with chronic pneumonia the IC50 for peripheral blood's polymorphonucear leucocytes M-achetylcholine receptors was determined, simultaneously effect of ipratropium bromide on dtimulated Ca2+ level in the cells of pulmonary lavage was studied.
In turned out M-cholinolytic action of ipratropium bromide on blood cells appears at children with a bronchial asthma in smaller concentration, than at children with a chronic pneumonia. Ipratropium bromide produced at both types of patients reduction of stimulated calcium response in pulmonary lavage fluid's cells and growth of ERF index. The increase of ERF1 value was more at patients with a bronchial asthma, than in the cases of chronic pneumonia, and also it is more enounced at children with normal lung extension, than at children with defect of lung extension accompanied by chronic pulmonary inflammatory process. The increase of ERF1 value and decline by ipratropium bromide of stimulated Ca2+ level in the cells of pulmonary lavage were notably correlated.
