DYNAMICS OF THE MARKERS OF SYSTEMIC INFLAMMATION IN PATIENTS WITH ISCHEMIC CHRONIC HEART FAILURE DURING TREATMENT WITH ROSUVASTATIN

Proinflammatory cytokines tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interleukine-6 (IL-6) play established role in the development and progression of chronic heart failure (CHF). Biological effects of these cytokines have many similarities: they induce the synthesis of C-reactive protein (CRP), and increased levels of CRP lead to the progression of CHF. The study was aimed to the evaluation of the role of the clinical diagnostic markers of chronic inflammation (CRP, IL-6, and TNF-α) in patients with CHF, and their dynamics during treatment with rosuvastatin. It was shown that during development of maladaptive phase of left ventricular remodeling, dramatic increase of serum levels of proinflammatory cytokines and CRP occur, which are closely related to structural and functional changes of left ventricular in CHF. In patients receiving rosuvastatin at a daily dose of 20 mg, decrease of the serum levels of proinflammatory cytokines and CRP and positive changes in cardiac remodeling was observed.
